Question by Jose E: Where is a place to meet at GRU airport in Sao Paulo?

Both of you are arriving at the same terminal (at least according to Wikipedia), so that makes things a little easier. When you exit out of immigration and customs, there’s a snack bar/cafe in the middle of the arrivals level of the terminal. The seats are not the most comfortable to sit on for three hours while waiting for someone, but it’s a good central location that’s hard for either person to miss. I think it’s right near the question mark on this map from Japan Airlines.

13 Aug 2010 Q&A: How do I access a ubuntu samba server from the internet thats behind an airport extreme?
 |  Category: Brazilian  | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,  | Leave a Comment

Question by Phil Stahlf: How do I access a samba server from the thats behind an airport extreme?
I have a samba server that works just fine on a local network, but I want to be able to access it from the internet. I have tried forwarding ports on my airport extreme (137, 138, 139, 445), but I still can’t access it from the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check with your ISP first. Some ISPs block NETBIOS traffic because of vulnerabilities.

Another possibility is that your Samba server is setup to only allow hosts from your local network. Check your server security settings in your smb.conf file. See the resources section for a link on what to look for.

However, I would strongly advise against doing what you are trying to do. It is a big security risk. If I had to, I would either setup a VPN or use ssh or sftp.
