“How did you get to be so good at this game?” William asked her as he filled in another blank.

“I used to play hangman all the time at restaurants with my family. E!” she said excitedly as the words became clearer. Her smile faded. Linda realized what he was spelling. She began to tear-up. William turned around. Eu te amo… it meant I love you in her native language. It was the first time he had ever said I love you to her.
“I love you, baby.” William smiled.
“I love you too,” Linda said as she got up to hug William. Faint music played in the background. They were in a hotel room in São Paulo, Brazil. Linda dragged William onto the balcony. The music became louder. They could see Ivete Sangalo performing one of Linda’s favorite love songs, Quando A Chuva Passar – When the Rain Stops. As Linda began to sing, it started to pour. She laughed and smiled as she turned to William. The night was perfect.
“O meu amor é imensidão, querida.” William reached into his pocket and pulled out the most gorgeous ring Linda had ever seen.
